I think we tend to take the bands for granted when we attend our high school and college football games. Just think how much they help us to express our enthusiasm and support for the teams as the players hurtle back and forth across the field! The kids in the band work hard and at unbelievably early morning hours to practice their marching. And, like the football players, the band members must practice and perform in all kinds of weather. Don remembers a time he was ‘forgotten’ and had to walk miles and miles to his home in a blizzard following a cancelled game performance. Poor guy. None the worse for wear, but it wasn’t fun!

This marching band kit has a nice mix of papers and elements to achieve the mood you want for your layouts. In addition to the stripes, plaid, and dotted papers, there are four ‘designer’ papers specific to music. They are gorgeous! This kit includes 17 (yes, 17!!) musical instrument elements that can be used in an unlimited number of ways. There are black inked circle word stamps (also offered in white), which can be used as-is or recolored. There is a full uper and lower case alpha that is green ink stamped and distressed on white cotton sheeting. I recolored the alpha for one of my layouts! There are stitch swirls, ribbons, ricrac and decorated frames. There are stamped frames and overlays, pewter musical notes and band word stickers. There is a gel drum major hat, a frayed fabric patch with embroidered words on it, and a darling pewter and vellum charm. And, that’s not all!

Here a couple of small previews to give you an idea what’s in the kit and what can be done with them!
