Stop Being a Pain!!!
filed in Misc on Aug.26, 2008
After years of neck pain, the degeneration of one of the discs in Don’s neck finally became a rupture the docs could see in the MRI’s and CAT scans. Yay! He’s not crazy or goldbricking! Vindication! Surgery! Ooooohhhhh. OUCH! I watched a normally very modest man lose all concern for THAT silly notion in a hurry. Going commando with nothing but a hospital gown leaves little control over what is visually shared with others. We knew he was feeling some better when he felt the need for clothes later in the week. He’s had good drugs, but all have only dulled the pain, not masked it completely. This pain is from the sore muscles that had to be pulled and held apart for close to 2 hours during surgery. The pain from the disc is gone, save for some residual ‘pain memory’ in the affected areas. The good doc says that should disappear in time as well. Fingers crossed, prayers prayed.

What do you think we can expect in the future so far as recovery timeline?
