Just Like Jackie Paper and Puff the Magic Dragon – Well ALMOST

Our precious niece, who understandably no longer answers to her nickname, became a freshman in college last week. It really seems that it wasn’t that long ago we were stomping together along the tiny creek behind my apartment, searching for tree stars. She was Littlefoot and I was her friend, Cera, and we had many adventures in those days, in our own ‘Land Before Time’. She left childhood behind long ago, of course, but my memories of time spent together have brought me many smiles over the years. I’m smiling big now, too, at the thought of all the adventures awaiting her as she embarks upon the latest chapter in her story. Unlike Puff the Magic Dragon, who lost his dear Jackie Paper, BooBoo will always be a part of my life. Lucky me! Here’s a picture of her ‘then’.
