More Camera Phone Fun

This is Rowdy. He is a Golden Retriever mix with predominantly gray fur. He and our other dogs absolutely love the snow and frigid temperatures we have had all week in Oklahoma. This photo was taken with my phone’s camera, and I applied one of the filters that came with the phone. Unfortunately, the camera phone saves the treated photo in place of the original, so I can’t go back now and see my original, which appears to be a pretty good shot. I’m disappointed that I didn’t take this one out to Photoshop first, because it’s difficult to get Rowdy when he isn’t in motion–he is usually a blur of fur!
I just let the dogs out for a potty break and a romp in the snow, this time unattended. I noticed these footprints on top of our pool cover–they have to belong to Rowdy, whom we’ve caught a couple of times trying to drink from the water that collects on top of the cover. Although this cover isn’t made to support his weight, it has not ripped or slipped and he has not fallen into the pool water beneath the cover–yet. We normally do not let him out without supervision because we know this is a risk, but he has been so good to avoid the pool during this weather that this time I thought it would be okay to break our policy. It won’t happen again. His luck will only last so long. So, hopefully he won’t run across it while I stand watching! I’m not eager to dive in to rescue him should the cover fail – but I would, and that would make for an extremely chilling experience.

Grew up building pools with my father. Pool covers are required to hold up to an adult walking on them without tearing. If you got it with your pool or from a reputable dealer a dog, even a large one should have no problems.
You are right though about the photo, it’s too bad you lost the original.
